The School
Al Bateen School, which opens in September 2011, will provide high quality education for English-speaking students from the ages of 11 to 18. Al Bateen is a forward-looking school that recognizes that today’s learners live in an increasingly globalized and multicultural world. To this end the school will continuously review and develop its programmes, taking into account recent educational research and thinking, to ensure that Al Bateen students are well-prepared for a successful life as global citizens in an ever-changing and highly technological world.
The Curriculum
The Al Bateen School will offer a British-style curriculum with an international dimension and one that is suitably adapted to meet the needs of students living and studying in Abu Dhabi. In Years 7, 8 and 9, students will follow a broad and balanced curriculum that includes English, Mathematics, Science and Technology, Arabic and French, Humanities, The Arts and PE. In Years 10 and 11, students will follow courses leading to IGCSE qualifications. In the Senior School, Years 12 and 13, the school hopes to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, a highly prestigious pre-university programme.
The Staff
Students will be taught by specialist teachers. All teaching staff are qualified in the British Education system, they are highly experienced and have a proven track record in delivering high quality education.
