Curricula

With seven academies across Abu Dhabi and Al Ain and room for 8,700 students, it’s important we offer a number of curriculum options to the diverse communities we serve..

That’s why we teach three of the world’s most respected study programmes: the English National Curriculum, American Massachusetts State Curriculum, and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme (DP). Each has its own benefits and merits, and we’re here to help you decide which curriculum is perfectly suited to your child’s personal way of learning.

Below you’ll find links to more information on each curriculum, how we approach teaching and learning, and the benefits to your child of selecting this learning pathway.

We’ve also put together some helpful guidance on how to choose the right curriculum, which you’ll also find below.

How to choose

Choosing the right school and curriculum for your child is one of the most important decisions you could make. There’s plenty to think about, but with some careful planning and research, you can be sure the final decision sets your child up for a bright future.
Here’s our guide to the most important things to consider when choosing a curriculum for your child.

  • Explore all the options No two curricula are the same, and while you may have a preference, it’s wise to consider all the options first before committing. In this way, you can be sure of making the best possible decision.
  • Where do you plan to be in the next 3 to 4 years? In our expat-dominated region, families relocate more often than if they were at home. Think about where your family may find itself in the near future, and how simple it will be to transfer your child’s education to this new location.
  • Think university Choosing one study programme over another can give your child an advantage when it’s time to apply for university. Talk to them about their future plans - and consider your own - to give them the best opportunities for higher education.
  • Think co-ed or single gender Alongside individual curricula, you have a choice between co-ed (mixed) schools and single gender. Research has shown the benefits of each environment, so it’s wise to consider these options as you do your homework.

There’s much more to think about when choosing a curriculum for your child, but with these considerations in mind, you’re on track to make the right decision. Visit our curriculum pages to take a closer look at Aldar Academies’ three study programmes.

The teaching of Arabic subjects is based on the guidance and materials prescribed by the Ministry of Education. It keeps local and other native Arabic speaking and Muslim children familiar with their national identity and religion. In addition, our international students gain an understanding of the UAE’s heritage which helps enhance mutual understanding, peaceful co-existence and cross-cultural harmony and tolerance.
