Abu Dhabi, UAE, 19th May 2016

Aldar Academies, one of the UAE’s largest providers of world-class, private education, recently organised ‘The Aldar Academies - Festival of Arts’, for the third consecutive year at the Emirates Palace Theatre on May 19th from 6pm - 8.30pm. The "Festival of Performing Arts" is an annual charity fund-raising event that has become a flagship student community engagement initiative for Aldar Academies, parents and friends.

The exciting show featured over 500 talented children from Aldar Academies’ schools in solo and group performances in music, dance, drama and poetry. All proceeds from the event went towards building a library in a school in Ethiopia to support the education of more than 500 orphans through SmallWorld; a leading NGO committed to lending a helping hand to those who are less fortunate, from different parts of the globe, specifically children.

Commenting on the occasion, Nilay Ozral, CEO of Aldar Academies said, "We are very excited and honored to be hosting Aldar Academies "Festival of Performing Arts" for the third consecutive year, as it builds on the success of previous themes, such as the "We’ve Got Talent" Show, and the "Aldar Academies Musical Celebration" which combined drew more than 1000 performing students to raise funds for the victims of last year’s devastating earthquake in Nepal. The events also raised funds for the Children’s Special Care Centre in Abu Dhabi the year prior, having raised over AED230, 000."

"At Aldar Academies, we have a deep belief in the need to engage our schools communities by inspiring the next generation of responsible global citizens and our students recognise the impact of stewarding noble causes that can contribute to improving the lives and well-being of people around the world. We are pleased to support SmallWorld, as they have a proven track record of reaching thousands of children across the globe."

Nilay Ozral went on to say that Aldar Academies continually strives to enrich extra-curricular activities, personal progression and encouragement of artistic expression as they are key elements that form the building blocks of youth development, on the individual and team-level, while giving our students a chance to show off their creative talents to their loved ones through a wonderful showcase of music, dance, drama and poetry.

Nilay Ozral concluded, "We trust that Aldar Academies Festival of Performing Arts will play a role in enhancing cultural awareness among our students through the Festival’s colourful and rich segments, in light of our vibrant multi-national environment which prides itself on its diversity and appreciation of all forms of art."
