The evening event saw our students lead a captivating program of performances including music and dance for parents and special guests, and followed the theme of collaboration – one of Aldar Academies' five values. Staying true to the concert's collaborative theme, parents of Aldar Academies' students were invited to assist the teachers during rehearsals for the event and also joined them on stage as part of a choir performance.

Not only our largest charity fundraiser of the year, the concert also makes an important contribution to our student's education and development.

"The love of giving and helping others is at the heart of the UAE and its citizens. Therefore, it's our duty to teach the younger generations the importance of giving and having empathy for those less fortunate, carrying on the legacy of His Highness Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan," said Nilay Ozral, Aldar Academies' CEO.

"The Aldar Academies Collaboration Concert reflected our true collaborative spirit, and we're proud of our students for contributing to the Year of Giving initiative announced by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan last year. In doing so, the concert also makes an important contribution to their education. students grow in confidence, build their collaborative skills, sharpen their concentration and ultimately emerge with a wiser head," she added.

Since the first Aldar Academies concert was held in 2014, our students have helped to raise over AED376,000 for children's charity initiatives. In 2016, donations were raised to help build a school library for 500 Ethiopian orphans, one year after giving to Nepalese orphans following the country's devastating earthquake in 2015. In 2014, the educator's charity concert raised funds for the Children's Special Care Center in Abu Dhabi.

The SmallWorld charity is committed to lending a helping hand to less fortunate children across the world. To date, SmallWorld has educated more than 7,000 children in 55 charities across 39 countries globally.
