Amplifying excellence: The Academy of Excellence has arrived

The Aldar Academies promise is no secret: to deliver the highest standards of education and inspire a love of learning.

With this in mind, we are thrilled to announce the launch of a programme that perfectly epitomises our promise in action – the Aldar Academies Academy of Excellence.

The aim of this unique and highly rewarding programme is to help our exceptional students fulfill their potential and reach the next level of academic excellence - ultimately propelling them towards the world's leading universities. What's more, to support our exceptional participants on their way to university, we will also grant a financial reward towards Year 1 tuition fees for four Academy of Excellence students each year.

The programme is exclusively available to all Aldar Academies' English National Curriculum students across Years 5 to 13, and applications are open now. Before applying, here's everything our parents need to know about the programme.

Students are recognised by 'category'

As students are accepted into the Academy of Excellence because of an exceptional ability in a certain field, the programme is segmented into categories that reflect four broad disciplines. The four categories are: Academic, Art & Design, Music, and Sport. Each category comprises its own tailored programme of learning initiatives and activities, to maximise the benefit to enrolled students.

The learning initiatives are challenging but hugely rewarding

The learning initiatives and activities are broad, varied and hugely rewarding for students. During the course of their programme, Academy of Excellence members will participate in masterclasses, workshops, discussions with renowned industry thought leaders, off-site visits, and internal projects. When combined with the guidance and encouragement of our teachers, these specially tailored educational initiatives will help to expand our students' competences, skills and attributes at a higher level.

The programme complements our core curricula

While the Academy of Excellence provides students with a broad variety of learning experiences beyond the core curricula, it has also been designed to complement the aims and content of our students' everyday studies. Therefore, students expand their skills and knowledge in the field they excel at while also gaining a well-rounded education overall.

How to apply, and by when

Applications to the Aldar Academies Academy of Excellence are open now, exclusively for Aldar Academies students, and close on Thursday 7th September, 2017.

To apply, parents and students must first complete a self-evaluation to decide whether the Academy of Excellence is right for their child. If so, students are then required to write a cover letter explaining why they should be awarded a place, before the application form is submitted to the Principal's PA.

Click here to download the Application Form, and click here to download the Academy of Excellence Parent Guide, which explains more about eligibility and expectations of participating students, parents, and schools.

What happens next?

Once applications close, a shortlist of candidates will be invited for an interview with the relevant school Principal, Head of Department, or Senior Leader. After this interview, a final decision on the student's application will be communicated to parents.
