Autumn Term
Students will explore the use of literary and dramatic devices and the shaping of meanings in A Streetcar Named Desire. Students will also focus on a range of ways to read texts, including reading for detail of how writers use and adapt language, form and structure in Never Let Me Go, responding critically and creatively the contexts in which both texts were written and received.

Spring Term
Students will explore poetic form, meaning, language, style and conventions in a range of contemporary poems from Poems of the Decade and the links and connections between poems. Students will also focus on a range of ways to read texts, including reading for detail of how writers use and adapt language, form and structure in Frankenstein, responding critically and creatively. Students will research the contexts in which texts were written and received.

Summer Term
Students will need significant revision time in order to cover all the content in preparation for their AS examinations. Revision for the prose component should incorporate the links and connections between both texts.
