Teaching will be split across two teachers, one teacher will be teaching content for paper 1 (The Family) and the other teaching paper 2 (Theory and Methods) both will be tested at the end of the year.

Autumn Term
The Family, within this topic this term students will be focusing on what defines a family, different types of families and social change-industrialisation and urbanisation.

Theory and Methods, within this topic this term student will be focusing on the different research methods that are available for sociological research as well as the different sociological perspectives.

Assessment weeks: There will be a base line assessment within the first week, w/c 10 October and MOCK WEEK December TBC

Spring Term
The Family, within this topic this term students will be focusing alternatives to the conventional nuclear families, economical functions of a family, social constructions including marriages.

Theory and Methods, within this topic this term student will be focusing on the socialisation and the creation of social identity. How humans form norms and values and how we can change the societies that we live in. Assessment weeks: w/c 11th February, internal MOCKS, the week after Spring break

Summer Term
Students will complete any outstanding content knowledge for the course and for the remainder of this term, lessons will be focused on the revision of the material taught throughout the year in preparation for external exams. External Examinations TBC (Summer series).
